WHERE to stay?

Hi there

We are planing to stay in Cape Cod for a week in July - 2 adults and a one year old.

We would like to rent a small cottage with kitchenette right in the water front -rather on the atlantic side perhaps. I stepped over Orleans??? Does anybody have a suggestion where to rent a cottage? We dont like it too crowded.

Thank you

WHERE to stay?

Orleans is a nice town with shopping and good restaurants. We enjoy Skaket Beach on the ';Bay Side';, which is great for little ones since at low tide you can walk out .5 - 1 mile on sand and tidal pools and look for crabs and other interesting things.

You can also go to Nauset Beach in Orleans on the Atlantic side for the pure beauty of the ';big'; waves. Orleans is also a good location to take off from for day trips. Brewster also has beaches on the bay side.

The beaches along Nantucket Sound are also great for a 1 year old - warmer water and gentle waves. We have vacationed here with our children since they were born and my oldest is now 13 years old. Some of the towns with Nantucket Sound beaches are West Dennis, Dennisport, West Harwich and Harwich Port and Chatham. You can do a search for ';cape cod vacation rentals'; and find many sources to rent from. One rental agency I usually recommend, because they have a big inventory and are very professional is:

Most listing have photos of the inside of the houses. Since you want to avoid crowds, you might ask for a house with private beach rights. Also, unless you are a short distance to the beach, you may need to buy a beach sticker from the town you are renting in if you want to drive to town beaches. Now is the time to look for July.
