Boston Shopping Sales?

I%26#39;m flying over to Boston to see friends and shop on 26th December until 1st January 2006. I%26#39;ve never been to Boston before and can%26#39;t wait, will the stores be holding their sales during this time? In the UK the sales start on 26th / 27th December until the end of Jan whats the score in Boston?

Boston Shopping Sales?

Hi,

Generally all the after-Christmas clearance sales start the day after Christmas here. This year, the day after Christmas is the observed holiday because Christmas itself falls on a Sunday. I think most stores will be open, however.

One suggestion would be to make sure you pick up a copy of the Boston Globe when you get here, and look at the advertisements for sales. Many stores will also offer coupons in the paper for additional percentage off clearance prices, so it%26#39;s worth looking.

If shopping is you main interest, you should see if your friends can drive you to the Wrentham Village factory outlet mall, which is about 25 miles southwest of Boston. It%26#39;s a bargain-hunter%26#39;s dream come true.

Here is some information (I see that they are open on 12/26):

Hi MelissafromLondon,

Yes, the stores will have great sales after Christmas, definitely get the Boston Globe newspaper or the Boston Herald when you%26#39;re in Boston and clip those coupons out, they%26#39;re well worth it. The sales are GREAT after Christmas in all the stores, uptown and downtown!

I%26#39;ve been giving some family and friends gift certificates for years as gifts, so they can shop after Christmas. When I talked to different people I realized I wasn%26#39;t alone doing that, it%26#39;s a tradition with a lot of people now.

The day after Christmas in a lot of the stores, the best thing on sale is the shopping bags and wrapping paper for gifts the following year; so look for them, get out there early because they%26#39;re practically given away, they%26#39;re marked down so much and every one grabs them off the shelves!

Have fun shopping!
