The Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown is experimenting with free hours on Sunday morning until noon. If you have a large family you may appreciate this news. We made the climb last month and will never have to do that again. We thought the view from the front at ground level was really just as good but you have to pay to get on the grounds so you might as well give the climb a go. We really enjoyed more the Museum portion when we finally found the exhibit about the Pilgrims. It is hidden all the way in the back. There is a rather long (maybe 20 min.) video on the subject of why the Pilgrims wanted to leave England...though they were by then living in Holland. Well,I won%26#39;t tell you the whole story. If you have any interest in this you might call and see if they keep this free admission plan. Oh also, we learned about the land that is now connected just by the breakwater and who lived there and when. When we were there the day was sunny but really cold in the wind otherwise we would have walked out on the breakwater as a few people were doing. If you try this be sure you go during low tide.

Do they still have the Whydah pirate ship exhibit on display?

Has the elevator been repaired %26amp; is the rooftop restaurant open during the winter. I read that there were some electrical %26amp; plumbing problems with the ladies %26amp; mens rooms and with the main observation stairwell access.
Apparently, air circulation is very bad in the main hallway during the cold weather months.
Methinks one would bode well to sit upstairs at the Lobster Pot, sip a red libation and inhale the finest bisque on the Island.

Trekked to the top once in the winter - will NEVER do it again. ';Brutal%26#39; doesn%26#39;t even come close.
