boson theater district restaurant

Hi,

I have tickets to ';White Christmas'; at the Wang Center (on a Mon. night) for myself and my 15 year old daughter, my 22 year old son and his girl friend.

I would like it to be a special pre-Christmas night. The girls want to get dressed up.

Any suggestions for a restaurant that would be above average, but keeping in mind their ages.It will have to be an early dinner, due to the timing of the show, and I would like to only have to park once.

Thank you for any ideas!

One suggestion would be Flemings Steak House, in Park Plaza. It%26#39;s got a nice, upscale atmosphere, and you won%26#39;t feel overdressed if you%26#39;ve dressed up a bit for it.

The steaks are fantastic, and the sides are very good also. The creamed spinach was excellent, and the garlic mashed potatoes are yummy as well. If you don%26#39;t like red meat, they also have some fish and chicken and pork entrees on the menu.

Another suggestion would be next door at Maggiano%26#39;s Italian. The food there is also very good, and it%26#39;s upscale enough that you will feel comfortable being dressed up as well, yet the menu might appeal more to children (pasta is always welcome with kids).

Maggiano%26#39;s would be lovely! We always go there whenever in Boston - the food is fab and it has a real homely %26#39;Italian family%26#39; atmosphere. The portions are absolutely massive - even the half sizes, so be warned!!

Good morning Cpeicott,

Absolutely try to check out Maggiano%26#39;s Little Italy at 4 Columbus Ave. My nieces love it there (18 and 19), it%26#39;s got a great casual elegant type atmosphere all wrapped up in to one. Your family will really like it there, try to get there special house salad it%26#39;s unbelievable! Check out www.maggianos.com

We park at the Transportation Building at 10 Park Plaza when we drive down for a show or dinner in the Park Square area. It%26#39;s convenient, clean and a pretty quick spot to get in and out of town.

If you go to any of the surrounding restaurants after the show they%26#39;ll validate your parking stub so remember that. You%26#39;ll save on the parking fee. Maggiano%26#39;s I know does it and so doesn%26#39;t Legal Sea Foods which is located at 26 Park Sq. that%26#39;s another good restaurant to go to that has a really good kids menu there as well. Whenever we go there, we a lot of times will get several appetizers instead of a dinner to try different things!

Have fun! It%26#39;ll be a great night with your family doing this!

Good Afternoon,

There is a place called Bennigans, thats just right in the theatre district almost across from the Wang Center. If you want to go more upscale, there is 4 Seasons restaraunt around the corner as well as a great dessert place that now server food as well, called Finale. But the latter two are more upscale and of course a bit more pricey.

Good luck.

Hi,

The Four Seasons (Bristol Lounge) sounds like it might be festive, but food that would be enjoyed by all. A wide range.(From burger to complete dinner). Are all menus served in the whole place, or do we have to sit according to which menu that we might want (bar, dinner, etc.)?

Will there be a problem in bringing a 15 year old into the bar area?

Does anyone know the approx. price range?

I went to their web site and though there were menus, there were no prices.

I am not really concerned, as I assume it will not be inexpensive, but I wonder how bad it will be.And again, if we have choices of both dinner menu and bar menu?

Thanks for any input.

I have been to Four Seasons twice. Once for drinks with co-workers and once with my girlfriend for a dinner and we sat at a regular, white tablecloth dinner table. They do have a bar area; however, I do not think that the menu would be drastically different. Four Seasons is a 4 Star Restaraunt. For two people I remember paying around 150 for full dinner (appetiser, main entree, desert.) and drinks. But we if you are going to get burgers and not too many alcoholic beverages, I assume the price will be lower. Also, call them up and just inquire about average meal price...

Have Fun.

The Bristol Lounge is not what I would call reasonable. That doesn%26#39;t mean I don%26#39;t care for it, it%26#39;s the kind of place I tend to think of being for those extra-ordinary events. For instance, high tea is priced in tiers, the top tier being about $30.00 per person.

As for a 15 year old in the bar, best in the area where the couches and chairs are, not at the bar. I have seen children there during tea but they%26#39;re usually little girls. Your event certainly sounds as if it would qualify, and getting dressed up is even better. Being well dressed is half the battle!

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.

I am hoping to treat this as sort of a special occassion night, so maybe we should try the Bristol Lounge.

I think that the atmosphere will be almost more important than the food, as my kids will eat anything and don%26#39;t really recognize the exceptional from the average.

Though I think that they will be impressed with a classy place.

Any one else have any thoughts?

Reserve or request a window table at the Bristol Lounge. It overlooks the Boston Common across the street and the activity just outside on the sidewalk.

Go to Parkers Restaurant at the Parker House

They are celebrating 150th Anniversary and you can ask for the table where JFK proposed to Jackie

They invented the term SCROd and still serve Parker House rolls and the room is beautiful

Food is high quality but value priced with all the types of entrees everyone likes.
