Hi,
I had recently read that Newbury Street had a great new restaurant, now I cant remember the name of the restaurant, can anybody help??
Thanks
Newbury Street Restaurants?
Newbury Street does have some great restaurants. I live around the corner and have pretty much tried all of them. Here are my favorites:
1. Tapeo - Spanish tapas place. Absolutely amazing - every single time. The sauces for each of their dishes are distinct and the variety is great. Festive atmosphere too.
2. Casa Romero - This one is actually just off Newbury Street in an alley (Turn onto Gloucester Street from Newbury and take the immediate left onto your first alley.) It%26#39;s a hidden gem and I%26#39;ve never seen them advertise but they%26#39;re always packed. Call ahead for this one and make reservations. They have the best Mexican food.
3. Stephanie%26#39;s - If you want to get back to American food, Stephanie%26#39;s is the best on Newbury. Everything I%26#39;ve tried on their menu is consistently great and I think their cocktails are the best. Service isn%26#39;t the greatest, but I still go there because the food is so good.
This is what I%26#39;ve whittled Newbury down to - I%26#39;ve pretty much stopped going to the other restaurants there. The South End is walking distance from Newbury and has fantastic restaurants. If you%26#39;re up for French food, I would suggest my absolute favorite restaurant, Aquitaine. It%26#39;s on Tremont Street. A bit pricey, but worth it. Also quite close to Aquitaine is %26#39;Addis Red Sea%26#39; - an Ethiopian restaurant which I love. It%26#39;s pretty cheap compared to all the above restaurants but it has great ambience (don%26#39;t be fooled by the outside) and great food. Especially if you%26#39;re in a group, this place is lots of fun.
Have a great time in Boston!

Another vote for Casa Romero--the food is really good and the atmosphere is great. I first found it by accident about 12 years ago and I go back every time I%26#39;m in Boston.
Sonsie is a restaurant on Newbury St. that gets alot of attention although I haven%26#39;t actually eaten there.
We ate at Croma this weekend and it was excellent. I think it is pretty new. Their specialty is gourmet pizzas, but the entrees were great too, particularly the Portabella Mushroom Lasagna. They have a website if you google it.
I second the Croma suggestion. It%26#39;s really good, it%26#39;s been around for a year and a half or so, I think. If you go, don%26#39;t miss the bread pudding for dessert.
