Places to iceskate

Going up this weekend, staying Downtown. Where can I iceskate outdoors? I know they have these ';MDC Rinks'; but which one is the best value/experience?

Also, can you name some specific clubs to go (we are in our early 20s). Thanks.

The Frog Pond on Boston Common is open for skating, I believe. It%26#39;s always a fun crowd there, and very pretty, although I don%26#39;t think they will have the Common Christmas lighting done by this weekend. The Frog Pond is on the Beacon St. side of the Common. I don%26#39;t know how much they charge, but it%26#39;s reasonable, and they do have skate rentals.

For clubs, you might want to head into Cambridge and try the Middle East in Central Sq., or go to Landsdowne st (near Fenway) and the entire street is lined with clubs, too.

THe Frog Pond is very pretty under the lights (at night; not necessarily with XMAS lights in the trees, but with the XMAS lights would be that much nicer). Ages 14 and over, $4 to skate and $8 to rent. WOW!! That%26#39;s an awful lot to rent skates fo ra couple hours. Didn%26#39;t think it would cost quite that much. Anyway, all the info is here: cityofboston.gov/parks/frogpond_winter.asp

Steriti Rink in the North End close to North Station is an enclosed arena tha talso has public skating.

Too many clubs to name. Suggest you do a google search. You can start here:
