hi all
is there any were in massachusetts that you can go on bear watching trips thanks tony
bear watching??
Black bears in New England are a pretty shy species, generally avoiding contact with us noisy humans if at all possible. Although the bear population has been on the rise in recent years, encounters are still quite rare. I have seen black bears up close only twice in thirty years of backpacking. Both times we were 10-12 miles away from any roads, and in the White Mountains.
I don%26#39;t know of any tours, but one way you can spot bears is to hang out by the dumpsters in one of the more popular campgrounds. Dolly Copp Campground in the White Mountains has a group of black bears that know they can find food where us sloppy wasteful humans have been camping. Stay in the car, windows up!
bear watching??
thanks for the info northbound
