First Trip to Boston

just wondering if anyone can help , planning my first trip to Boston in oct/nov and wondering where is best to stay (for sightseeing %26amp; plenty of shopping) also would like to take in another city (except NY - have previously visited) that is easy to get to by plane etc

First Trip to Boston

You didn%26#39;t specify your price range for hotels but if you want to be close to shopping and sightseeing the Sheraton Boston, Back Bay Hilton or Marriot Copley Place are good spots. These are all in the Back Bay section of Boston with plenty of shopping available and easy transportation for sight seeing and also easy walking distance to downtown and the theatre district.

First Trip to Boston

For a visit to large cities, Montreal, Canada is about a 2 hour flight, Toronto, Canada about 2.5 hours and Washington, D. C. is about 1.5 hours all from Boston. If you want to visit New England cities, then it is better to drive or take a train although the train options are sparse to cities outside of Massachusetts except to Connecticut or to Portand, Maine. There are a few foliage train trips every year that depart from Boston%26#39;s North Station.

For those, check www.mbta.com in September.
