I will be staying at the Ramada Inn (near the JFK/UMass T stop) and I have to catch a train out of South Station at 6am. It%26#39;s suggested that I%26#39;m at the station by 530am, thus my question: what is the best way to get from the Ramada to South Station around 5am?
From what I understand the T doesn%26#39;t start running until about 530am...is there a bus I can take?

You should inform the Ramada of your plight in advance of arrival and ask if there is a hotel shuttle service that can drop you off st South Station. Otherwise, I would ask them to arrange for a taxi.

If you%26#39;re making this trip Monday through Saturday (except holidays), the first inbound Red Line subway train at JFK/UMass is at 5:24 AM, and it gets to South Station at about 5:31. So you should have no problem.
On Sundays and holidays, the first Red Line train isn%26#39;t until 6:08 AM, and I don%26#39;t think there are any buses, so you%26#39;d have to take a cab.
I got this schedule info from http://trip.mbta.com .
Also note that there isn%26#39;t really any checking in to do for an Amtrak train, except if you need to have them print your tickets or check luggage, so you don%26#39;t really need to be there half an hour early.
