Bars, Bars, Bars!

Hi Dgjm01,

You%26#39;re flying all that way for just the weekend? WOW it must be nice, I see a lot of people do that from your country. A lot of them come here just for the shopping! What%26#39;s going on any way! Do the travel agents have a good deal or something for weekends? They must!!

In any case, you%26#39;re going to have the best time here! It%26#39;ll be worth your while to dress really warm. We%26#39;re expecting rain mixed in with snow on Thanksgiving morning evidently, so it%26#39;s going to be here sooner than we think.

One place that you really need to check out for Clam Chowder is the Omni/Parker House located on Tremont St. not too far from the Quincy Market. I used to get it there alot on my lunch hour when I worked in the Financial District. It%26#39;s probably the best around, make sure it%26#39;s piping hot though.

Turner%26#39;s in the Westin Hotel is another great place to hit for clam chowder, so remember that when you%26#39;re up in the Back Bay area.

There%26#39;s a place called Boston Chowda Co. that has great chowder! There%26#39;s a few locations, one is at 164 Northern Ave., then 800 Boylston St. which is in the Back Bay area of Boston nd the other one is located at 1 Faneuil Hall Market Place right in the Quincy Market. There%26#39;s also one in Cambridge at 36 JFK St. It%26#39;s got really good chowder so look for it if you%26#39;re in the vicinity of any of these listed.

Are you looking for Bars, Pubs or Nightclubs? You won%26#39;t have any trouble finding out where to go on this Forum, trust me! You%26#39;ll get a lot of really good suggestions on places to go! It depends on your age group and type of music you like that would help every one here as well.

If you%26#39;re in your 20%26#39;s? I would think the Faneuil Hall Market Place area would be fun for you, as well as the Canal St and North Station area.

If you%26#39;re beyond that scene? Then in the Back Bay area there%26#39;s all kinds of great bars and clubs, Whiskey%26#39;s is on Boylston St., it gets pretty crowded.

There%26#39;s all different types of bars in the City of Boston as well as in Cambridge, MA across the river. Karaoke Clubs, Comedy Clubs, Sports Bars, Martini Bars, Irish Pubs, Nightclubs, you name it, take your pick.

A good site to check out is:

www.boston.citysearch.com

Look for one of these Sports Bars; Game On at 82 Landsdown St. in Boston. The Fours at 166 Canal St.

Boston Beer Works at 61 Brookline Ave.

Lucky%26#39;s located at 355 Congress St. usually has a Frank Sinatra impersonator on Sunday evenings, call to see if he%26#39;s there, 617 357-5825. It%26#39;s probably one of my favorite places to go in Boston these days when I%26#39;m in Boston. The drinks are pricey but worth it. There%26#39;s no sign out front, it%26#39;s just a dark stairwell that leads you in to a 50%26#39;s retro place. It%26#39;s either got great jazz on Sunday nights or Sinatra Sundays cover band. Either way it%26#39;s a fun bar to go to. It gets really really crowded these days, so you%26#39;d have to time it right. It was really good when it was new and when it first opened!

You won%26#39;t have any trouble finding places to go in this City, trust me! Remember to check out www.bostonphoenix.com

while you%26#39;re in town or right now before you get here! This newspaper has really good listings for where to go.

Have fun and enjoy your time in Boston!

Bars, Bars, Bars!

Thanks for the info, haven%26#39;t been in boston for 5 years so can%26#39;t wait!

The Summer Shack on Dalton St. next to the Back Bay Hilton has great clam chowder and a decent bar as well. It is also close to many good bars and restaurants on Boylston St.
